READING 2- There are a variety of causes that can contribute directly or indirectly __(1)__ the extinction of a species or group of species. Just as each species is unique, and so is each extinction. The causes for each extinction __ (2)__ varied  – some subtle and complex, others obvious and simple. Most simply, any species that   is unable __(3)__  or reproduce in its environment, and unable to move to a new environment where it can do so, will die out and become __(4)__ . Extinction of a species may come suddenly when a healthy species is wiped out completely, as when toxic pollution makes its entire habitat unlivable; or may occur gradually over __(5)__   years, such as when a species gradually loses out in competition for food to better adapted competitors.

The question of whether more extinctions  have been caused by __(6)__ or by catastrophe is a subject of discussion. Currently, environmental groups and some governments are concerned about the extinction of species caused by human beings, and are attempting to combat further extinctions through a variety of __(7)__ programs. Humans can cause extinction of a species through overharvesting, pollution, habitat__(8)__ , introduction of new predators and food competitors, overhunting, and other influences.

ENGLISH 11- (newcoursebook) REVIRION - UNIT 6: GLOBALWARMING
READING 1- Fossil fuels are the cause of many problems .They create terrible pollution which leads to global warming , the rise in temperature around the earth 's atmosphere . Recent scientific research has proved that global warming has catastrophic effects on the earth 's climate , which results in severe natural disasters such as drought and floods . Another scary impact of global warming is the rise in sea water worldwide , which could make thousands of cities disappear from the world's map .
To reduce the risks caused by fossil fuels , many environmentalists are looking for alternative energy . Among them is the soft energy path .Solar and wind power are soft energy . Biofuel and geothermal energy are also included . Countries such as Canada and Sweden are taking the soft energy path .Canada is currently lessening its reliance on fossil fuels .In the next few years all gasoline will contain a percentage of biofuel .S... of __(7)__ programs.
