Test   Correction of  45- minute Test 1   

  1. OBJECTIVES:

- Teacher  helps the students identify and correct the mistakes that they had from the test.,  help them recognize and learn from their mistakes from then help build practise testing skills. Besides ,Students are able to  consolidate the language uses, grammar and vocabulary within unit 1,2,3

- Teacher has chance to test students’ levels to adjust  the ways of teaching. 

  1. GENERAL COMMENTS
    1. Strengths:

-  The content of the  test focuses on basic knowledge of unit 1-3 and is closely based on the specification grid 

 - The face validity is good – clear and nice

-. The assessment tasks meet the requirement of  classifying the levels of  learners ‘ knowledge and skills 

  1. Weaknesses:

-      There are 1 spelling error in grammar --> causing confusion to students

  1. Common mistakes:
  • Many students were still uncertain about the form of words, verb tenses. determiners,prepositions   in  writing tests 
  • Many student are unable  to identify word collocation and words with contextual meaning in reading and vocabulary  tests 
  • In reading comprehension test , most students had problem inferring ideas .  Suggestions:
  • Teacher should check the  test more carefully before handing them out to  students.
  • Teacher should pay more attention in building writing tasks .

	45- minute Test 1 
I. Objective : at the end of the lesson,
- Ss will be able to consolidate the basic knowledge // Information – Vocabulary – Structures – Language Skills that they have got from Unit 1-3 and their background knowledge. 
- Teacher will be able to have a chance to test Ss ‘ levels so that they can have better methods of teaching in the following lessons 
II. Preparation : Paper tests // all 11th graders do the same test of 8 versions from 7:00 am.to 7: 45 
III.Test Specification Grids-

Many student are unable to identify word collocation and words with contextual meaning in reading and vocabulary tests

a- Understanding details
* Identifying facts 
àlocating specific pieces of information in the passage quickly –
àcomprehending important pieces of information and facts accurately ,eliminating incorrect options
--.identifying paraphrases that do or do not correctly summarize information from the test 
b- Identifying Topics: 
à Looking through the passage and grasping the main idea of the passage ,not paying much attention to the irrelevant details 
à comprehending the paraphrased options accurately
Passage 1: READING COMPREHENSION TEST 
Passage 2 : CLOZE TEST
a. identifying the word collocation 
b. identifying words in context / flow of ideas 
c. identify the exact form / meaning of word
Activity 2 - Giving Feedback of the Vocabulary / Grammar

à T guides Ss to identify clues to have good choice of options
