WEEK 6 Tuesday, October 19th 2021 UNIT 3: THIS IS TONY. Lesson 2 ( 1-3) I.AIM: By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to ask and answer question about someone, using is this/is that+name II. TEACHING AIDS: - Teaching aids: Teacher’s book, student’s book, cassette player, posters, pictures. III. PROCEDURE. *. Warm up: Teacher: Greet the claSS by saying Hello, how are you? Call some ssto sing the Song How are you? *Vocabulary: - that is: Kia là. - It: Nó - yes: Phải -No: không Checking: Slap the board. 1. Look, Listen and repeat - Ask ss look at the picture and listen to the dialogue in their books. - Tell them that they are going to practise introducing themselves and responding to the introduction( vietnamese). - Point to the P1 and Ask ps look at the text in speech bubbles.Use a poster or two character puppets to present the situation. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen, and point to the appropriate line in their books. - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles. Repeat the step a few times. Pupils: - Practice with ps. - Devide the class into 2 groups. Askps practice in pairs. - Go round and check ps can repeat and understand the dialogue. Note: Is that Tony? Yes,it is No,it is’t 2. Point and say. - Have pupils look at Pictures. Ask them to identify the characters in the pictures. - Use flashcards to teach the question and answer in the speech bubbles. - Have pupils repeat the phrases a few times. - Picture a. Is that peter? Yes, it is/ No. it isn’t. b. Is that tony? Yes/ no. . . c. Is that. . . d. Is that. . . - Tell ps that they are going to practise asking and answering questions about one’s name - Point to each character in the picture and elicit his/her name and the words to fill the gaps. - Write the whole sentences on the board. - Pupils practise in pairs. Monitor the activity, check the pronunciation (stress, assimilation of sounds and intonation), and offer help when necessary. - Call on some pairs to perform the task at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments if possible. - Make a few questions to check pupils’ comprehension of the language. - Have the whole class repeat all the phrases in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation. 3. Let’s talk. - Tell ps that they are going to practise more with their friends. - Point to each character eliciting the name. - Ask ps to guess what the children say. - Fill the graps and write the sentences on the board. - Get ps to repeat the sentences a few times. - Get ps work in pair of three to interact. - Call a few pairs practise in front of the class. - Check ss’ pronounciation. Note: It's = it is It isn't = it is not * Homelink: - Do exercise on workbook. - Prepare part 4.5 Thursday, October 21st 2021 UNIT 3: THIS IS TONY. Lesson 3: (1-3) I.AIM: By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to pronounce the sounds of the letters t and y inthe words Tony and yes respectively II. TEACHING AIDS: - Total physics response (TPR).: Work in pairs , work in groups, discuss, ask and answer. - Teaching aids: Teacher’s book, student’s book, cassette player, posters, pictures. - Students’ aids: book, notebook, workbook. III. PROCEDURE. *. New lesson: 1. Listen and repeat. T Tony I that Tony? Y yes yes,it is - Have Ss open the book page 22, look at the words Tony, Yes and notice the letter coloured differently in both words. - Produce the sound of the letter t in the word Tony and y in the word yes t: Is that Tony y: Yes, it is 2. Listen and write. - Ask Ss to say what they think about when they hear the sound - Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen - Pupils:Turn their books page 22 - Ss write the words they hear - Compare with their parners. - Key: 1.Tony 2.yes 3. Let’s chant. - Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen - Call on a group of six: three of them to repeat each line of the chant, other three clap the syllables - Pupils:Turn their books page 22 - Have Ss practice the chant in groups and clap the syllables. - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary/ correct typical pronunciation errors. - Call on a group to recite the chant. The others clap the syllables - Make a few questions to check Ss’ comprehension of language - Have the whole class recite the chant to reinforce their pronunciation. - Have Ss circle all the words containing the focused sounds in the chant. * Home- link: - Practice more the structure - Do the exercises - Prepare Part 2.
