Week 14 Tuesday, December 14th 2021 UNIT 10: WHAT DO YOU DO AT BREAK TIME? Lesson 1 (1-3) I. Objectives. - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Ask and answer questions about what the other speaker does at break- time. - Sentence Patterns: What do you do at break time? ̶ I play ___. - Vocabulary: badminton, football, basketball, chess, table tennis 2. Skills: - Develop Ss listening and speaking 3. Attitudes: - Ss love English more. - Keep safe when they play games - Do exercise more. 4. Forming competence: - Know some about break-time activities. - Practise with partner II. Methods: - Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practising, discussion group, technical present.... III. Preparation. 1. Teacher’s preparation: CDs player, stereo, book. 2. Student’s preparation: Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks. *Vocabulary: break time: Thời gian rỗi play badmiton: chơi cầu lông play football:đá bóng play chess:chơi cờ play table tennis:chơi tennis play basketball: chơi bóng rổ Checking: slap the board 1. Look, listen and repeat. Ask Ss to identify the characters in the picture on page 64 and what they are doing. Set the scene “you are going to listen to Linda and Mai asking about some games. Play the recording and asks Ss to listen to the tape twice. T asks Ss to listen and repeat in chorus two times. Have whole class repeat all the phrases a few times to reinforce their pronunciation. 2. Point and say . Have Ss look at the pictures a ,b.c and d Ask them to identify the characters in the pictures and what they should say. Learn vocabulary and practice speaking about activities you like Prepare part 2 (P2) Tuesday, December 29th 2020 UNIT 10: WHAT DO YOU DO AT BREAK TIME? Lesson 2(1-3) I. Objectives. - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Express their likes and dislikes of a sport or a game. - Sentence Patterns: Do you like ___? ̶ Yes, I do. / ̶ No, I don’t. - Vocabulary: skipping, skating, hide-and-seek, blind man’s bluff 2. Skills. - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitudes/Quality: - Love sports - Solidarity with friends 4. Forming competence: - Know some about break-time activities. - Practise with partner II. Methods: - Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practising, discussion group, technical present.... III. Preparation. 1.Teacher’s preparation: CDs player, stereo, book. 2.Student’s preparation: Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks. *Warm up : T asks ss to answer What do you do at break time? Student answer. 1. Look,Listen and repeat. Have Ss to look at the book at page 66; identify the characters in the picture. Make a few questions to check Ss’ comprehension of the dialogue. Set the scene: “we are going to review phrases that they have learnt in the previous lesson.” Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen and read the text. Mime the dialogue. Play the recording again for Ss to repeat the dialogue a few tome to reinforce their pronunciation. 2. Point and say. Have Ss look at the pictures a, b, c, d on page 66 Elicit the actives in the pictures and their doing. Tell them to guess and respond to the first character. Then fill the speech bubbles with the correct phrases prompted by Ss. Have ss repeat a few times. T models the dialogue Do you like playing badminton ? Yes, I do No, I don’t. Have Ss to work in pairs to practice . Call on a pair to demonstrate at the front of the class. Have the whole class repeat all the phrases to reinforce their pronunciation. * Homelink. Learn vocabulary and practice speaking about activities you like Prepare lesson 2(4.5.6).
