 UNIT 8: THIS IS MY PEN.
 Lesson 1(1-3)
 I. Objectives.
 - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
 1. Knowledge:
 - Talk about school things.
 - Sentence Patterns: This is my ___. / That’s my___.
 - Vocabulary: pencil, pencil case, school bag, notebook, pencil sharpener 
 2. Skills: 
 - Develop Ss listening and speaking
 3. Attitudes/Quality:
 - Love their school things
 - Keep your school things clean and tidy.
 4. Forming competence: 
 - Be able identify school things.
 - Work in pairs
 II. Methods: 
 - Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a 
character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching 
methods by practising, discussion group, technical present....
 III. Preparation.
 1.Teacher’s preparation: CDs player, stereo, book.
 2.Student’s preparation: Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks.
 I .Warm up: put the words in order

 II New lesson. *. Pre teach vocabulary
 - pen : Bút mực 
 - ruler: Cái thước 
 - school bag: Cặp sách 
 - notebook : Quyển vở 
 - pencil case: Hộp bút
 - pencil sharpener: Cái gọt bút chì
 - rubber: Cục tẩy
 * check vocab: Slap the board
 1.Look, listen and repeat.
 - Ask Ss to identify the characters in the picture on page 52 and what they 
are saying.
Set the scene “you are going to listen to Linda and robot talk about school 
things.
 - Play the recording and asks Ss to listen to the tape twice.
 - T asks Ss to listen and repeat in chorus two times.
 - Have whole class repeat all the phrases a few times to reinforce their 
pronunciation.
 - T elicits model sentences from students
 This is my pen
 That’s my rubber
 Giới thiệu đồ dùng học tập của mình: 
 This/ That is my + tên đồ dùng học tập
 Examples: This is my notebook.
 That is my ruler.
 2.Point and say .
 This is my.......................
 - Have Ss look at the pictures a,b,c,d,e 
 - Ask them to identify the characters in the pictures and what they should 
say.
 - Fill the bubbles and have Ss to repeat the lines a few times
 - Ask Ss to practice introducing their school things, using pictures 
 a. pencil b. pencil case c. school bag
 d. notebook e. pencil sharpener
 - Call on some pairs to perform the task at the front of the class. 1. Make some questions to check Ss’ comprehension of language
 2.Have the whole class repeat all the phrases to reinforce their 
pronunciation.
 3.Talk.
 - Have Ss look at the pictures on page 52 and identify the characters in the 
pictures. 
 - Fill in the speech bubbles with the correct phrases promted by Ss
 S1: This is my rubber S1: That is my school bag.
 S2: Is it? S2: Is it?
 S1: Yes, it is S1:Yes, it is
 3. Have Ss to repeat the sentences a few times before let them practice 
freely. 
 4. Have Ss to work in pairs to practice .
 Call on a pair to demonstrate at the front of the class.
 Have the whole class repeat all the phrases to reinforce their 
pronunciation.

 - Learn vocabulary and practice introducing your school things
 - Prepare lesson 1(4.5.6)

 - Love their school, keep your school things clean and tidy. - Ss work hard in the lesson.
 4. Forming competence: 
 - To know some school things.
 - Active participate in groups, ready to help their friends.
 II. Methods: Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as 
a character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching 
methods by practising, discussion group, technical present....
 III. Preparation.
