Teacher may use the Language review as a self-assessment test or revision. Students do the activities, and then teacher checks the answers with the whole class. Teacher may also conduct each activity separately.

Vocabulary

Ask Ss to do this activity individually. Elicit the form and use of the present perfect tense and the past simple tense. Ask a student to do the activity on the board while the rest of the class work on it individually. Check Ss’ answers, or ask them to explain their choice of tenses. If necessary. Refer Ss to the Do you know…? box on page 40.

Elicit the form and use of gerunds and infinitives. Then ask Ss to do this activity individually, and then compare their answers with a partner. As a student to write his / her sentences on the board. Then check the answers with the whole class.

PART 1: READING 
A. Read the passage about THE PEOPLE IN NEED ORGANIZATION in THE CZECH REPUBLIC and choose the best option (A,B,C or D) to answer the questions: (1.5 points)
The People in Need Organization was established in 1992 by a group of war and foreign reporters who were no longer satisfied with just bringing back information to the Czech Republic. “We are a non-governmental, non-profit organization for disadvantaged people’s freedom, equality and solidarity. We believe that people anywhere in the world should have a right to make decisions about their own lives”, says the leader of the organization.
The People in Need provides medical emergency relief to people during natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes and storms. At the same time, the People in Need focuses on delivering long-term aid to people living in poverty and deplorable living conditions. In countries across Africa, Asia and Europe, it conducts development programs, whose aim is to improve the access of the local population to education, health care and drinking water, raise the local people’s hygiene awareness. For several times, the humanitarian team has also assisted people during floods in the Czech Republic. 
Especially, for children, the People in Need often organizes its yearly toy donation activity - Toyland for Kids. In 2013, we supplied toys to over 8,600 children, and expect similar result this year. The event hours will be Saturday, December 20 from 10:00 AM
